Hi. We are ShipMonk, a 3PL provider. Our platform covers everything from stocking the items to shipping the ready packages from our warehouses in the US, Mexico, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the Product Development team based in Prague, Czech Republic! We ship about 100,000 orders per day. Our book of business has more than 1,500 clients which are mostly based in the US.

Our System Support Engineers play a critical role in our engineering team. They provide application support for our internal software, monitor the systems, continuously process requests we don’t have full feature support for, and help to automate processes and resolve any issues that arise. This role provides a great opportunity how to enter the IT environment and grow in many possible ways (eg, developer, tester, system integration engineer, etc.)

What will you do?

  • Day-to-day operations and system support of order fulfillment applications
  • Development of order fulfillment applications
  • Operational and bug fixes
  • Constantly improving codebase
  • Automating operations
  • Monitoring our systems
  • Being on-call to support urgent issues
  • Writing documentation, help docs, runbooks, post-mortems
  • Hands-on experience in L1/L2/L3 support activities (involving direct interaction with end users)
  • Continuous improvement and the ability to drive Root Cause Analysis

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience supporting web applications and working in cross-functional, distributed teams
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills (sounds like a cliché, but really need this)
  • Solid user-level technical knowledge and task automation abilities
  • Proven ability to work independently, structure problems, and drive scalable solutions

And if you are familiar with the next ones, we will be happy, and if not, we will help you:

  • PHP or JavaScript (TypeScript), MySQL, ORM frameworks, and messaging queues (RabbitMQ)
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools (Sentry, DataDog, Kubernetes, OpsGenie, Grafana)
  • Hands-on experience with writing code tests
  • Experience in L1/L2/L3 support and supply chain or warehouse systems is a plus

If you like what we do, and our "story" got you interested, we look forward to seeing your resume, profile, story, or anything else you might have! There are no limits to creativity. Our Recruiter, Dominika, will get back to you as soon as possible. We look forward to hearing from you!
